Meet the Board of Directors

Carrie Carren, LCSW, CADC

Carrie Carren is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with over 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families through addiction, codependency, and trauma.

As a board member of Creative Recovery Collective, Carrie brings a clinical lens that centers dignity, autonomy, and the real possibility of lasting change. Her work has always lived at the intersection of recovery and relationship, and she shares the organization’s belief that sustainable recovery means rebuilding not just sobriety, but purpose and identity.

Her practice uses a trauma-informed, experiential approach that goes beyond traditional talk therapy to help people strengthen their sense of self, develop healthier boundaries, and find solid footing in their lives and careers. She also incorporates animal-assisted therapy, a reflection of her conviction that healing doesn’t always happen in conventional ways.

Over her career, Carrie has provided individual and family therapy, crisis counseling, clinical supervision, and prevention programming. She has presented trainings and workshops internationally on experiential therapy and substance use treatment, and holds a Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago with a focus on adolescent and family therapy.

She runs Carrie Carren Therapy & Consultation Services in the Chicago area.
